So here is the deal...When I was stuck in boring locales for years with no southern cuisine i was ripped. Now, I am back in the south for the last year and I have softened up quite a bit. Anyone go through this? Anyone figured out how to eat fried chicken, baked mac, all manner of po-boys, etc and keep it under control?

Eat healthy - you don't have to exercise
Eat what you want - exercise

I did the same thing...lived in Colorado for a while and didn't care for the food much. moved back to the south and I eat like a damn machine even for lunch during the week.

I live in Colorado now. However, whenever I go back for a visit, I always pack on weight. The food is too good back home.

I do well otherwise, but I would have to make changes if I moved back.

Haha very true.

Also. Sugar coats the bottom of your stomach causing the "beer belly" as calories and fats stack on top of it.

So two tips that will change the game: limit your sugar, don't eat crap after 8:00. Do those two and you'll see dramatic improvement without running a single mile, all the while eating all the fried food you can handle

But to be fair if I lived in Kaplan, LA near Suire's grocery I would probably gain 40lbs.

And drink WATER. So much hidden sugar in tea, Cokes, etc.

Yea, I chose to move to an area of NOLA where there are probably 20 awesome eateries within 6 blocks...Plus me and my girl love to cook.
