Girlfriend gave me a Movado for my birthday today. I’ve never owned one or know anyone with one. What is the OT expert opinion on a Movado?

Screams I want a luxury watch but I'm too cheap or can't afford to buy a real one.

"I prefer watches with leather bands, would you be upset if we returned it to the store?"

I just looked that watch up. $1,300 for that thing? Seriously? I mean, it looks like a decent watch, it's not that I wouldn't wear it. But it's not $1,300 nice.

This is the same one, right?

I'm sure the horophiles will chime in, but that's a far better looking watch than their signature plain face with the diamond ones IMO.

It was a sweet gift and a non-tacky watch you can enjoy wearing.

Yea that’s it. 800 series. It’s a nice watch and feels good. Just never been around a Movado.

I got one as a gift from a business partner and didn't like it. Gave it to my little brother.

I’ve got a couple and they are what got me into watches. My wife bought me one for Christmas one year and then I bought another along with a Tag. I really didn’t know much about watches at the time so I just figured they were nice watches that weren’t stupid expensive. It wasn’t until I joined watch you seek to ask a question about a Hamilton Kahki X-Wind I was looking to buy that I found out the watch snobs see Movado as some middle of the mall bullshite with Tag being not far behind

I still wear all three because I’m not really a watch snob but there are better options in the same price range. I would wear that watch in a heartbeat because it’s a nice looking watch that should keep decent time.

Not a fan of Movado but as far as they go, thats not a bad looking piece.

don't say a word as its not junk and fine to wear.
