Stories like this are why I stopped commuting with my motorcycle when I found out I was going to be a dad.
My dad quit riding when I was born, started back up after my brother & I graduated high school.
After a few years he decided he liked fishing more & got a boat.
Tragic situation for everyone involved.

The girl that Troop A was handcuffing looked very young. Just an awful mistake she will live with forever.

i crossed the bridge around 7- fog was bad. This makes me further wonder why louisiana cannot make a road in a straight line. Ridiculous

So roads should be in a straight line rather than people being able to navigate and not kill people? You dumb

I'm amazed that people get on those things and ride on major highways and interstates and think they're safe. One minor mistake can turn you from a living, breathing human being to just a pile of mush on the side of the road.

You remember I saw that guy right by your house a couple or three years ago? Dead from the same shite.
You know some a-hole rear-ended me on the befrigged interstate near Scott last year...texting.
How in the frick do you rear end someone going 75mph?

I rode motorcycles throughout my youth, into my young adult years. I had a lot of fun, but eventually got away from it when I got married. That was before all of the distracted driving options that exist today.
I would not ride a motorcycle today, not because of me, but because of everyone else on the road doing everything but driving their vehicles. It's far too dangerous. And in Kentucky, they even repealed the helmet law, so idiots are riding with zero protection.
My cousin was rounding a curve a few years ago and hit an oily spot on the road and the bike slid out from under him. He basically skidded face first along the road for about 100 feet. He was wearing a full face helmet and proper riding clothing, and have some scrapes and bruising, but recovered. Not wearing a helmet, tshirt and flipflops would have gotten him killed.

Just lost a co-worker Friday the 13th. He was killed on plank road on his motorcycle coming to work. People need to share the road and pay more attention.
I was also stuck in this traffic today. Prayers for the family of the man who lost his life.

The worst part about riding a bike around town is other people. IMHO, it's half fun and half shitty because you constantly have to act like every car is going to hit you.

Agree with texting or reading a text and drifting over. Will they ever learn???
Posted on 1/18/17 at 9:50 am to toosleaux
A very tough learning experience for her.

Well, it's not "against the law". Neither is driving slow in the left lane, which causes others to drive aggressively.
FWIW, things aren't against the law until people get ticketed for doing them. Texting and driving is worse than drinking and driving, but cops don't care in the least bit. I'd venture to say that upwards of 80% of accidents nowadays are caused by phones. Do the cops care? Nope
I'd bet dollars to donuts this girl doesn't get charged with texting and driving

Well, it's nothing but speculation right now as far as I can tell. Any number of things could have caused her to be driving the way she did.

seems like at every red light , the first driver takes like 5 seconds to realize shite has turned green before they proceed
texting and driving is OOC. the poster here Lithium said sth like he would have half the amount of work he does now if everyone just put their cell phones in their trunk before driving (he is an ER doc I think). and this was years ago.. I imagine things have gotten worse.
RIP to the deceased. tragic

I saw an older couple on a date last night at a nice restaurant who both had their phones in their faces the entire time. Almost no words exchanged for an hour. Pathetic. I mean, you're about to die soon, and all you can think about is Facebook and Candy Crush.
Cops need to get a handle on texting and driving. People drive around all day flat out not looking at the road. Unfortunately, they won't do shite until told to by their supervisors

I just don't understand how they can enforce this? It's not illegal to be dialing a number on your phone so how can they prove you were texting and not calling someone? I seriously doubt anyone is going to get their cellphone records subpoenaed, so it's basically a useless law.
