My cast iron skillet is pretty fricking heavy. It probably wouldn't be too hard to kill a person with it. A parent probably needs to be a little more thoughtful in their choice of tools for discipline.

are you even a parent? What do you want her to do? i'm sure she tried grounding him, timeout(s), and taking away his video games. Sometimes kids just escalate situations until a parent has no other choice.
