Related story: over the past year we folks who drive I-20 east in/out of Birmingham watched the "town" of Brompton die, as manifested by the signs for the Brompton exit being first papered over, then finally replaced by signs for the real town of Moody. It was... weird.

I'm from Topsy. White trash area north of lake Charles around Ragley area. We have our own Mardi Gras. Starts at a gravel road and ends at the VFW. Mostly horses and four wheelers but it's a hellava time

I assume you're speaking of the Jim Bowie's Relay Station? If so, I regret to inform you that it burned down a while back.

Also: Larto.

There's no actual town of Duty any more. It was probably a steamboat landing at one time, but there's nothing there now. Harrisonburg is directly across the river,

Enterprise is the name of the town by the ferry. My cousin drove Duty ferry for years. I actually
Took the ferry back in may.

The drive from Olla (another random town) over to Duty Ferry is the most scenic in Louisiana. You'll think you're in the Ozarks. When you crest the last big hill overlooking the Ouachita, you can see for 20-25 miles.

That would be Rosefield on hwy 124.
