Social media has corrupted us. It's made us think that a humdrum, basic life is something to be lauded.
Maybe it is.
But goddamn.
I think we've traded a life well lived into a life well-portrayed.
But, honestly, most people, myself included, are fricking boring.

TO be honest, that was the inspiration to this thread.
A girl I've dated three times on and off for 18 years has turned into the most basic, plastic bitch on the planet. She is a walking stereotype.

People who take social media seriously, already suck arse. Some people just have terrible social skills.

I'm off the hardstuff.
I might have a bourbon for football day or a beer out with friends, but I never let myself get over the legal limit. I don't want to go back to being that miserable a-hole. I can't remember my last hangover.

A soft, easy life that fits in to normative standards will inevitably produce a class of brainless morons, but so will most other kinds of lives. Most humans just aren't going to be all that interesting because we are hard-wired to go along to get along.
