LSU Alumni chapter here in Orlando is going to begin reaching out to the Tampa and Miami chapters as well to start collecting needed items we can bring home.

Obviously clothes, baby supplies, bedding, cleaning supplies, dog and cat food/litter are some of the items most needed I've seen. Our Board meeting is Tuesday therefore I'd like to get thoughts on what else may be most needed by people affected & who we could bring these items to that would be most able to get them to those who need them most.

You can either post here or e-mail me directly at fishingfloridaradio.com or orlandotigers@gmail.com

Thanks and God Bless everyone who is either directly affected or has family that is.

What's the forecast for the week?

Admins could I please request a sticky for a few days.

very good idea, as this is the question that a lot of us have. I requested sticky as well.

since you are going for a sticky. I suggest maybe the OT pulls together it's own charity. Use the affected ones to tell us what and where stuff is needed and the others who can help will do all in our power to get collected items out there. Maybe set up a few collection points. I think we could do a lot of good and not worry about getting fleeced by a charity.

You have florida, maybe we can get some people in NOLA together as well and do something similar. Being close we can get goods out there pretty quick.

Yea with many of your being local(in-state)much closer is great. We have a bit more to coordinate here locally as far as getting supplies to the hardest hit areas.

Thanks for all your help.

Have a number of pet rescue groups/people already working on getting those items together here locally.

Had someone who is donating ask me if I knew how far north the flooding was, since they have family in Coushatta they haven't been able to reach. Unless I'm way mistaken that area should be fine, shouldn't it?

Coushatta is fine as per a friend who lives in a nearby community.

If anyone has thoughts on what items specifically are most needed and to what area and agency/group they could be delivered to later in the week we'd be very grateful. I can also be reached at fishingfloridaradio@gmail.com

Prayers to all of our Louisiana brothers and sisters.

Gathering stuff that is needed is cool. Getting it to LA is a little trickier. I have a truck and can pull a trailer to LA if you need help getting it there. I do not have a trailer but can rent one if you do not have one available.

I will need about a half days notice to clear some scheduling up.
