Trick is getting the right size. They do seem to run small, at least for me. But a pair properly fitted is hard to beat.

Justin Ropers is the right answer
And I have a pair of Tecovas. Not a huge fan.

Tecovas, got my first pair in December. Went with The Earl, clean looking, nice, comfortable boots. Would buy from them again. Went with the size I normally wear in tennis shoes.

Try a bunch of different brands, sizes, and widths. When it comes to cowboy boots it is crazy how different each brand is and how much sizing differs from running/casual shoes. With that said, Tony Lama and Tecovas seem to be my favorite. Lucchese is great but is not an everyday wear boot.

Arias is comfortable, but outsourced from China, so hard pass on that.
I don’t see a lot of talk about them on here, but I’m on my 3rd pair of Double H boots that I wear 5 days a week around a construction site/fab shop. Also made in the USA

The pair of Ariat I got at Cavenders over Christmas are maybe the best footwear I’ve ever owned. They are so comfortable.
I don’t care for the square toes, which seems to be the current craze based on what they had in the store. I got a pair with about 1” squared at the toe and I like them.

Would have sworn to say Lucchese, after owning a pair of Lucchese Aligators.
But you cant't wear exotics very often, and I too went to Cavenders, thinking I'd buy some comfortable Lucchese Ropers as an everyday boot, but the Ariat's were even more comfortable and over $100 cheaper.
ETA: round toe

This has got to me the most un-cool, square, dorky corner of the internet- in the history of the internet.

I’ve had great experience with Justin and Tony Lama.
But I echo Rummy, I currently have 2 pair of Tecova (buying a 3rd in a couple weeks), and if quality and comfort remain this good, I doubt I’ll ever buy something different.

Roper or tradition heel? IMHO, makes a big difference in walking comfort.

I was wearing out loafers too quickly and needed something I could walk through a work construction project with. 3 years later, Ariat roper square toe still going strong. I can kick them off after a long day and get them on with one hand when I’m carrying shite.

Tecovas
I have 2 pair now that are both superior to my Lucchese's

I wear mostly Justin or Tony Lama. I have had many many pairs of both through the years and mostly all I buy now.
Now for a work boot double H is hard to beat! I have also had several pairs of these and are pretty legit!

A walking heel for comfort, no need in a riding heel if you aren't in a saddle. Even if you like the look, the feel will get old for an everyday boot.
