I’d call the loan officer you talked to and give them 8 layers of hell and threaten to pull the application.

Does anyone know if the same thing happens with car loans?

I keep do not disturb on, set favorites to ring through, and add anyone i actually want to talk to to favs. Anything else... they'll leave a voicemail if it's important.

I bet collectively a million $ worth of man hours have been spent listening to ringing and having me not answer by companies over the past 20 years.

Dues this really work? Are they getting your phone number bc of phone records of an exact phone call with a lender? I figured it was because my number is per much attached to my name on everything

Your lender should have directed you to pre-optout to decline solicitations prior to a hard pull on credit

Ask them if they have a personal relationship with Jesus. Quote some Bible verses.

The big operations aren’t dialing your number and waiting to see if you pick up. A machine is dialing your number and connecting you to the telemarketer if you answer.

Why? Its called Trigger leads. The Agencies are selling the data

Congress had a chance to stop this but removed it from a bill last minute

Transunion, Equifax and Experian sell your contact information along with the date you had your credit pulled, what your approx score was and why you were getting your credit pulled as a "sales Lead" for about .15 ¢

They sell it to as many institutions as will sign up to buy it. You can't opt out and your mortgage lender can't opt you out either ( they obviously don't want you being contacted by competitors.

They're called trigger leads. Once your mortgage person runs your application, it triggers that info and goes to companies that buy these leads. They're crap companies that try to make money for the smallest investment and the LOs that work for them really aren't mortgage people, They're just telemarketers.

This.

It's actually being considered now to get banned by the feds. It's currently legal.

That's a bunch of bullshite right there.

22 calls so far today after 51 yesterday and 12 the day before. The first call actually came in 2 minutes before I hung up the phone on the original call to my mortgage lender. It was a 24 minute call.
Whoever's responsible for allowing this type of predatory ambushing of calls to happen, i'd like to kick them all in the nuts/ovaries.

I am dealing with this right now and it is maddening. The first minute my credit was pinged, I started getting calls.

37 today
54 yesterday
13 Monday

I am about to lose my mind.

I called back the initial agent at PennyMac and asked him what the hell was going on and how to stop this. He said nothign they can do and it'll stop in a week or so.
It better, or i'm going to get a new phone number.
30 Monday, 24 yesterday, 12 today.

and every now and then i answer and the person on the other end is usually a giant dick and wants to argue with me.

I answered one today ready to argue and it was an old client that I really did not want to hear from.

your bank did a hard pull not a soft pull.
these are called 'Trigger Leads" - no fault to your bank/lender.
I'm in the mortgage business, hit or miss with every borrower being called.

If you’ve recently applied for a home loan and been bombarded by competing offers, a “trigger lead” might be to blame.

Simply put, when your credit is pulled, other creditors may be alerted in real-time.

guess who selling them ...the credit bureaus themselves are the ones selling this information!
