MOREHOUSE PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Authorities in Morehouse Parish say they've busted a man who was growing marijuana plants.

And by the looks of the photos they shared, the pot plants were pretty big.

According to the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office, 58-year-old Dale Blood was arrested on August 8, 2019.

He was booked on a charge of cultivation of marijuana.

Authorities say was transported to the Morehouse Parish Jail.

While growing and using marijuana is legal in some states, it remains mostly illegal in Louisiana. The main exception is the use of medicinal marijuana, which is now being sold in Louisiana in the form of a liquid with a price tag of roughly $100 - $180 an ounce.

Many states even allow you to grow your marijuana plants as long as you keep them in an enclosed space and the plants are not visible to the public.

The lesson here kids... never let your marijuana plants grow so tall before harvesting because it's such a waste if you're busted.

Thank God we are out fighting real crime. No telling what those plants could do to innocent people.

They sure look happy about someone’s life about to be ruined over a plant.

That may be tricky, bamboo grows fast and can actually shield the plant from receiving maximum light, or suffocate/rob soil nutrients..And if a section is cut, will be easy to see in the air.

Best bet in growing is indoor controlled climate. You get to dictate what happens.

The only thing criminal about this story is that people aren't allowed to grow a plant and consume the fruit that it produces. That goes against every principle this country was founded on.
