And JFK felt betrayed by the CIA when the Cuban people didn't flock to the invaders as predicted. He pledged to

"splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds."

There's also the matter of what he intended to do about Vietnam. There's some indication he was intending to withdraw, although it's unclear exactly what he had in mind.

Right. He was letting folks "in" on stuff. He wasn't just shaking them down for "protection."

I'm curious what JFK's planned schedule was after 11/22. I can't find anything on that. Supposedly there were two attempts that were scrapped before Dallas according to some folks - one in Chicago and one in Tampa. If the Dallas attempt had been similarly scrapped, I wonder what may have been the next possibility.

There's a lot to be said for the mob. The north end of Boston is super clean and crime-free because it's mob territory. The French Quarter might be similarly improved if there was a strong mob presence there again to protect visitors and local businesses from petty criminals and street thugs.

Yeah but then you'd have to deal with even more guido's acting tough and threatening to kill you for looking at them crossways, maybe even some actually doing it.

Drunk off my arse in the FQ one night, I had to take a leak and didn't want to pay a cover just to use some bar's bathroom. I stumbled down an alley, at the end of which was parked a brand new Lincoln Town car. I pissed all over it, taking care to hose down each door handle. I've often wondered whose car that was, and what would have happened to me if they had walked outside.

I had the exact opposite impression. My words on seeing it in person were "wow, what an easy shot, JFK was a sitting duck". It was a great snipers nest. Everyone I was with agreed. The spacing involved is all much, much closer in real life than it looks in documentaries or the Z film.

BINGO. Every time I've been I realized I would have had zero trouble landing those shots with that rifle from that location in those conditions. Insane that the immediate vicinity buildings weren't scouted out back then like now. Then again, it was idiotic to ride with the roof
down...so who knows
I do LOL everytime I'm in that museum bc it literally THRIVES off conspiracies. They won't let you take picture or be on your phone and they have 'monitors' walking aorund making sure you follow the rules. Hilarious. Still took plenty of pics on my phone

The shot is really easy. I hit a tiny arse bobcat running away from me faster than the motorcade was going at 125 last deer season. From a much lower trajectory.

What's funny about these threads is I can pick out the source material most posters got thier in for from.

Ruby stopped to wire money to a stripper on the way to the police station. Oswald would have been gone had he not requested a change of chlothes. It was mere chance he was still there when Ruby arrived. That is a very very very shaky foundation for the Ruby was sent to silence Oswald part of the conspiracy.

They also did the forensics of the shot from the knoll. It would have killed Jackie too. The sewer shot would have been completely blind. No chance.

Oswald acted alone. Period. If you read a little more, he took a shot at General Walker not long before the Kennedy assassination and he also would have taken a shot at Nixon if marina hadn't locked him in the bathroom.

If you want to believe there was a conspiracy, nothing is gonna change your mind. I've resigned myself to that. But the forensics and the evidence don't support your position....

That's if you believe Marina. I've read what's available on her and the woman told 5 different versions of every story.

Or she and Lee's "friend" George Sergius de Mohrenschildt, the other source, who, out of a cast of characters including creepy David Ferrie, paranoid Guy Banister, and sleazy/pathetic Jack Ruby, is the sketchiest of the bunch.

Marcello was said to have been the boss of Joe Campisi of the Campisi's Egyptian Resturant fame.

Makers of some great thin crust pizza.

Pretty sure there are pictures of Marcello and Campisi in the back room of the Mockingbird Campisi's location. Ruby went to that restaurant the day before he shot Oswald and Joe Campisi & his wife visited Jack Ruby in jail after the shooting.

Ate at the Egyptioan when LSU went to Final Four in Dallas in 86. If I remember correctly there was one round table in the back for the bosses

Again, this reply is the difference between lone shooter and conspiracy guys...

everything you reply with is conjecture and speculation. Not a single concrete shred of PROOF has emerged in over 50 years. Not one person in this massive conspiracy involving the CIA, FBI, Mafia, Cuban Refugees, French Assassination squads, etc... Have broken thier silence. Not a single one. Not a single document has been produced. On top of all of that, the forensic evidence all leads to Lee Oswald firing 3 shots from the exact window where they said he did it from. Occam's razor.

If its so easy why did it take more than 1 shot? The evidence is, there was a shot from the front that went through the windshield. It didnt come from the back. All the evidence was tampered with even the Zup film. The Warren Commision is filled with discrepencies.

If Oswald acted alone why did he deny the killing? Someone that just killed the greatest person in this country would surely want the publicity to be the man that did it.

103 people died, some murdered, some suicide, car crashes, mysteriously, and some so called natural deaths. Thats alot of people connected to JFK dead. Eerily similar to the Clinton family friends that all died.

There was a conspiracy. Ruby didnt kill Oswald because it was his patriotic duty. He killed him to cover up the truth. The whole thing was staged like a movie with alot of money to be made.

Marcello protected other Italians, yes but he also targeted them as well. If an Italian moved in or opened a business in certain areas then they were shaken down. Obviously that came with perks though. A non-italian may have been left alone, for better or worse.
