Monroe is the right answer.

I'm very familiar with both, so you can trust me.

If you have any questions just let me know

I lived in both places. Monroe/West Monroe for sure. Better food, nightlife, women....

Is there something mentally wrong with you? Or did you get in trouble, put in prison, get the shite beat out of you in Monroe/W. Monroe? You freak the frick out anytime anyone posts something about that area, even to the point of down voting anyone who doesn't share your batshit crazy hate for it. ... Seriously, does it have something to do with that pig & you that everyone keeps talking about? Really, really straight up nuts the way you head to a thread even mentioning Monroe/W. Monroe, like a fricking lunatic.

Monroe is big-time enough to have an Olive Garden unlike Alexandria. So Monroe.

Not to mention the entertainment in Monroe (i.e. weekly 12-year-old football contest) is much higher quality.

Monroe also allowed my wife to get her driver's license.

Slight edge to Monroe. Alexandria may be one of the worst cities in America.

I lived in both and I'll take Alexandria/Pineville/Ball in a heartbeat. I can still drive to Monroe in a jiffy if I want to. However, that place is a town unto itself and has way too many Baptists and Church of Christ folks. Their thinking has a way of influencing the culture. The one thing I will give you about Monroe, it is a great pussy town. As for the university thing, give Alexandria another ten to fifteen years and you will be pleasantly surprised. LSUA has grown by leaps and bounds since it went four years, and it continues to grow a little more every year.
