I miss the Chennault Park golf course.
It's still there and it sucks. I played it last spring, and the greens suck, and the fairways suck. It sucks. I used to be a lot better.

Now it's more of a parking lot for the little league soccer fields

Yeah, it's on the same level as Muny these days.

Selman is gone . . . well not gone, just closed down.
From my understanding they have done a lot of improvements to Forsyth, or maybe that's just the park part.

Enoch's for the win. I loved that place.

I used to never hook until I played that one hole across from Neville. Hooked it everytime into the parking lot.

remember the woman that got murdered...a nun, a preacher, something...I don't remember what her religious title was...found her body in north Monroe it seems. That would have been in 85.

No, not that bad. They closed Selman for some reason last year. Forsythe is actually much improved. They have a driving range now. Though the range is pretty much the 3rd fairway. I hit my drive there the 1st time I played with the range and had to pick it out of about a thousand. (You can't see the range from the tee)
Maybe I caught Chenault at a bad time. I saw where they have some electronic "caddy" device that gives you yardage and stuff. They just got that within the last month or two.
Actually, Riverside in West Monroe is probably the nicest public course around for the money. They have new management and rebuilt some holes, added a nice driving range(with screens), and a nice new grill. Chenault's probably a better layout, but Riverside is cheaper.

That's dangerous crossing Forsythe at 5 o'clock.

And that sucks about Joe Delaney. What part did he drown in? And I don't think I remember reading an articl about it recently. You'd think they'd revisit it every couple of years or so.

Lea Joyner. I think she was a Methodist preacher. Bridge is named after her.

Yeah that was Lea Joyner, she was the minister at the United Methodist Church, I think. They named the bridge after her.

Saw both Dash Rip Rock and Cowboy Mouth at Enoch's back during grad. school. Excellent place for these types bands.

It's closed because they are about to redo the intersection of Kansas Lane and whatever that road is that runs behind the mall. The new expressway will go from the interstate to 165, making a northeast loop around the city. It will join 165 at the Forsythe Extention. That has been held up by Charles Jones because it will go near his house.

He drowned just outside the park, I think. I was young then. I remember it being on the news for days.
They will mention it every once in awhile. I think Kansas City has done a lot of stuff in memorial of him.

God, I used to HATE it when people had birthday parties there. I hated to skate. Worst parties EVER.
What about that video arcade that was on the corner of N7th and Cypress?
