What rock you been under? Almost every elderly person I know that didn’t have covid got sick AFTER their second vaccine. Some very severely, but by all means go get it for the common good.
That is counter to my experience. My wife's GF is in congregate living and he nor any of his 15-20 or so friends had any symptoms of note. They are all mid-70s to mid-80s and only three of them had had COVID and considering they were tested weekly it is unlikely any had it and slipped through the cracks.
Her GF is one I am counting as having COVID, he was exposed roughly at the time of his first dose so he showed symptoms about 8 days later but the totality of his symptoms was feeling like crap with a fever for about 4-5 hours one morning. He had no reaction at all to the second dose but technically he had COVID and recovered by the time he got the second shot.

Took the 1st shot on Wednesday. By Thursday afternoon developed sore throat and body aches. Flu line symptoms, Fever , chills and body aches through yesterday. Finally feeling a little better today. Anyone else have this issue? Not looking forward to the second round.
My 86 year old father got both Moderna and had minimal issues with second shot. I got first and had some upper arm soreness and lifted weights the day after and it disappeared. People love to make shite up. It is highly likely I had covid in early 2020 but at this point I think people are stupid not to get vaxed to get some protection with the other variants ongoing.

almost like medicine is an individual guessing game, and fricking with everyone's immune system with the same shite is a bad idea

There's no way they'd release a worldwide vaccine unless it was safe and the data prove it's safe after hundreds of millions of doses.
Vaccine long term side effects in all previous vaccines only pop up around 2-3 months max and they're extremely rare. None popped up in clinical trials. These vaccines right now might actually be safer than more traditional ones. This is what the data shows.
Naive, or just too blue pilled to consider that none of these people give a frick about you.
If it's that safe, let's remove the protections against lawsuits.

I dont get how people are saying they are getting sick and/or having signs of covid when these companies said they dont use any weaken strands of covid in the vaccine. These companies even state it does not protect you from having covids or reducing side effects of covid including death. So why are people rushing to get a vaccine that doesnt help? Doesnt that fact contradict what a vaccine should do?

Interesting you mentioned blue pilling and limits on products liability cases against vaccine manufacturers since that has always had strong Republican support most recently about 3-4 years ago where the Scalia court (Scalia wrote the majority opinion) upheld the VICP system, all the right-leaning judges were in the majority.
VICP or CICP* for the COVID vax is a no-fault compensation system that together cover basically all vaccines. VICP has been around for ~35 years. The public policy is that large tort verdicts have a chilling effect on vaccine research/development/production. This is an area of tort reform, people fall on either side but in general, Republicans are very much for it.
* while similar VICP and CICP are also very different in how they are administrated.

Who mentioned politics?
I didn't say shite about republicans. Hell, Trump is as much to blame for these things and the current state of society as anyone else.
Totalitarianism doesnt care what team jersey it wears, sorry this isn't the "hurr hurr stupid R" dunk you thought it was.

The vaccines are designed to get your body to have an immune response. Maybe you don't understand why you get sick when you are infected with a virus. Most viruses don't cause the symptoms that you see the symptoms are a result of your body fighting the virus.
The mRNA vaccines use a portion of the RNA that codes for the COVID-19 spike gene. It then tells your cells how to make the spike protein. Your body makes the protein then starts the immune response by producing antibodies which when it sees the spike protein again your body will bind to the virus and neutralize it. Outside of reactions to carriers of the vaccine such as propylene glycol the symptoms people have with the vaccines are a result of their immune system cranking up.
BTW the J&J vaccine is different in that it uses an unrelated disabled adenovirus to give your cells the proper instructions.

You are misunderstanding what the vaccines do and what their efficacy is. They all significantly reduce the chances of the significant symptoms of COVID including death.

Again you have been misled, the numbers show the vaccines are all very effective and chances are the J&J vaccine has an efficacy in line with Moderna and Phizer is you take into account when the efficacy studies were done but that is somewhat speculation.

"the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine has been shown to
prevent COVID-19 following 2 doses given 3 weeks apart. The duration of protection
against COVID-19 is currently unknown."
They've been testing for how long? under 3 months? Didnt they announce last fall that a clinical vaccine is in the works. Then all of a sudden it's here. So really how long was testing periods?
"The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is an unapproved vaccine that may prevent
COVID-19. There is no FDA-approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19."
I'm just pulling up information from their sites that they say this vaccine will do. Im not misunderstanding what vaccines do, Im just questioning what these new vaccines do.

Its not a "vaccine" its an experimental DNA gene therapy modification drug

Phase one trials for both mRNA vaccines started over a year ago, Phase 3 trials started in July.

The mRNA vaccines do the same thing traditional vaccines do they just reach the end in a different way. Instead of introducing the spike protein via a virus the mRNA teaches your body to make the protein then the immune system attacks it just like one introduced via a traditional vaccine.

It absolutely is a vaccine. What part of the definition of a vaccine is not accurate for the mRNA vaccines?
Gene therapy is a loaded term and only tangentially accurate. While the mRNA vaccines use genetic material to produce the immune response they do not edit or add genes. The DNA of the recipient is not changed at all.

It doesn’t change your DNA but keep repeating nonsense if you would like.

Just wanted to bump this up.
If you have had COVID, you don’t need the vaccine.
And now we know that if you have had it and get the vaccine, you may be in danger of blood clots with the JNJ vaccine.
