First =/= best and if you try to pimp being first without being the best, it's just kinda sad.

They are just trying to boost exposure and generate some tourism dollars. These billboards are probably already generating their worth in exposure a couple hours in.

Combine this billboard with the 2 "University of Alabama: Where Legends Are Made" billboards right near the Superdome on I-10 and there are a lot of chapped asses around there.

No one cares about Mobile Mardi Gras. Nationally, if you ask people if they had ever considered going to Mobile for Mardi Gras, they would respond "where's Mobile?"

However, they can be quick to be offended/upset about things in which talk about their city or culture......
From the years of hearing the "Mobile is first debate", I always notice Nola people have to quickly point out a counter argument. If it didnt bother them, I dont think they would even bother really.

So we should all just sit here and not post anything? Using that logic, you surely agree that Mobile is more butthurt than anyone here by even placing the billboard in the first place. This conversation doesn't happen without them being so insecure about their celebration that they had to advertise 114 miles away.

I think NOLA completely took over being King of Mardi gras, and Mobilians know the only way to get under people from NOLAs skin is to mention they were the original
