That's become very obvious over the last 24 hours.

I'm feeling a bit offended and definitely scared to leave my office. I'm sure that everyone supports the arrest and jailing of this person who is inciting violence against white people. PROTECT ME!!!!!!!

No, we reallly aren't. We're saying that there were 2 alleged incidences of the n word, an expulsion to boot, and a poopswastika that no one ever saw in person.

I think you have cause to demand remuneration from tigerdroppings for exposing you to this.

We only have 4 1/2 more hours to hit 2k posts in one thread in a 24 hour period. I believe this would be a OT record if memory serves correct.

YOu wouldn't say that if that was your daughter.

If my child felt so scared to be on campus, then they could leave and go some place they felt more comfortable.

If it were you kid, you'd just lay down like a beta man and blame your daughter, right?

No, I'm saying take responsibility for yourself. Take it upon yourself to actually find out what's going on. Don't accept Twitter nonsense as fact. Don't make bullshite lying claims in order to incite hysteria. NONE OF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

ACLU: Missouri needs to protect students' free speech rights; blasts reporting of "offensive" speech

LINK

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Free speech advocates are expressing concern that instructions from University of Missouri police on how students should report "hateful and/or hurtful" speech could stifle legitimate differences of opinion.

A campus email sent Tuesday instructs recipients to call university police as soon as possible and notes that while such speech isn't always illegal, students can nonetheless be punished by the Office of Student Conduct.

The university's student conduct code prohibits harassment, which it defines as "unwelcome verbal or physical conduct" against "actual or perceived membership in a protected class ... that creates a hostile environment." The conduct code also forbids bullying, retaliation and threatening or intimidating behaviors.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri responded with a statement calling for the university to not compromise the right to free expression in its efforts to fight racism. Its statement says, "Mistakenly addressing symptoms — instead of causes — and doing it in a way that runs counter to the First Amendment is not the wise or appropriate response."

ACLU AND the NYT is blasting Mizzou right now.

‘I Need Some Muscle’: Missouri Activists Block Journalists

LINK

COLUMBIA, Mo. — A video that showed University of Missouri protesters restricting a student photographer’s access to a public area of campus on Monday has ignited discussions about press freedom.

Tim Tai, a student photographer on freelance assignment for ESPN, was trying to take photos of a small tent city that protesters had created on a campus quad. Concerned Student 1950, an activist group that formed to push for increased awareness and action around racial issues on campus, did not want reporters near the encampment.

Protesters blocked Mr. Tai’s view and argued with him, eventually pushing him away. At one point, they chanted, “Hey hey, ho ho, reporters have got to go.”

Your subtlety has slipped.

You said that people can't pretend everything revolves around them. I think the most obvious target for that message would be the protestors. But that's because I am still using common sense.

I'm thinking about suing my job for stress since they gave me access to the computer that led to my access TD which led to my reading and becoming offended about something that doesn't affect me in any way shape or form and is complete BS. But, frick all that. PROTECT ME. and PAY ME!!! I am a delicate flower after all.

Some folks are trying to add a little reality into this.

We have a black president, SCOTUS justice, numerous judges, politicians, etc. The disparities that exist aren't due to racism

I didnt say they are. But exceptions to the norm beg us to investigate why they are exceptions.

Disparities arent soley due to racism TODAY, but they are historically based in racism. That's an undeniable fact. If its roots were in racism, and gaps still exist, then we can suggest that there are lingering effects IN ADDITION to other factors. I dont see how that is hard to admit.
