They need to cancel class for 2 weeks, make a curfew, directly order all faculty and employees to stay off of social media, lock down all the buildings on campus, and let people get this out of their system.
Then tack on this missed time during their Christmas break. This isn't a vacation. Its an institute of higher learning.

Yes. Actually, I'm for penalizing the pussy white (and minority) students who did nothing while radicals took over their campus and they just sat there.

"Some of our players are very concerned for the events that are taking place on campus and I can understand their passion for important events on campus. We are excusing them from practice for a few days as they feel strongly about participating in the protests. I am a football coach and my team has a game to get ready for on Saturday. We will be conducting voluntary practices. When those players are ready to rejoin practice, we will happily welcome them back."
Missouri Coach Pinkel just released this statement. Sounds like they are really going to be prepared for the BYU game.

For now...
She's gone the first chance they can get rid of her without making this situation escalate more. Could be a year from now, but she's gone. And deservedly so. The video of her encouraging physical force to block out a student reporter are ridiculous.

Just had to check into this thread.
arseinclarse - the pics you posted were of the protestors demonstrating DURING THE HOMECOMING PARADE - when families had all their little kids out there to get candy. These kids paraded through the crowd with their bullhorns, screaming that Mizzou was "Built on our Blacks!", referencing that it was built partially by slaves in 1839; and "White Silence is Violence!"
They surrounded the President's car and demanded he stop, right their on the street, and have a pow-wow with them. His wife in, sitting in the convertible with him, had to have been scared to death. He didn't really respond, and his car began to inch forward, running into the Trust Fund Hunger Striker.
The police formed a barricade and forced them back. Threatened pepper spray if they didn't. All while the families with there little kids, who just wanted some Starbursts, looked on.
I'm hopeful that Payton Head will have some consequences. He fanned those flames last night and started all that paranoia. People have lost their damn minds.

I'll be shocked if more than a handful miss practices. And if they do, they won't start, probably won't play.
Pinkel was put in a terrible position here. This group of players came to him after that had made the decision to walk out. His whole brand at Mizzou is built around family. If he didn't support them, at least publicly, he'd be labeled a racist and never recruit a black player again. He did what he thought was the best thing to do at that point, which was publicly say he supported their right to take a stand - not that he agreed. This whole thing is a freaking nightmare.
