Yep, suspend that full schollorship while they protest. Wonder how long these young activists would've lasted in the SEC of their parents day. Someone needs to remind them they're there (at the schools expense) to get an education and play football.

There needs to be a written statement put out by the administration clearly denouncing fecal drawings of all types throughout the campus.
Furthermore, fecal drawings within toilets should also be avoided if at all possible. Multiple flushes are authorized to prevent interim drawings.

Comments in this thread are sad. The incidents being described on campus are pretty unacceptable. If people are committing these acts on campus then there definitely need to be some changes.

It's a university. I expect them to be able to handle childish young adults and faculty that refuse to get along with those that don't share their exact world view. Obviously the university does not condone harassment on campus.
It's not 2005. Jobs in academia are not as easy to come by as they used to. Start cleaning house and set a few examples....and explain to students that they don't have the right not to be offended, and they are part of a diverse student body and not everyone will agree with them 100% of the time. Explain to faculty that they don't have to get along politically with the people they work with, and don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out if you can't handle that.
The mission of the university is not to appease feigned outrage or hurt feelings over a political difference. It's to provide education and conduct research.
Missouri looks incredibly stupid right now.

And that may or may not have been students. You don't have to be a student to drive through campus in a pickup with the back end full of idiots. There are some fairly high-traffic streets through Mizzou's campus.

This guy is a grad student - and well on his way to becoming a professional activist/organizer. He was in several photos in the campus newspaper's timeline of fall activities and protests on campus, organizing people and yelling into a bulhorn. He will cave, because he won't be able to effect social change or lead protests on the injustice of it all if he's dead. People like this are narcissists. He's saying "Look at me!!!!" And getting exactly what he wants.
I don't believe for a second that Mizzou is any worse than any other college campus. Probably way more liberal than some. Maybe Wolfe is really horrible and a change is needed, but I haven't seen enough to convince me of that yet.

Loftin took a week to assess the situation and recommended a diversity program. Wolfe tended to other matters.
A black student group interrupted the Mizzou homecoming parade, surrounded Wolfes car, and put on a visible protest/organized chant. They wore shirts stating, "Built on my b(l)ack" referencing Mizzou being built with slave labor. Police allowed them to conclude their chant and peaceably removed them from the roadway. The student group complained that Wolfe did not engage them in dialogue during the parade.
They proceeded to place post it notes on the school's statue of Thomas Jefferson to protest systemic racial oppression at Mizzou. The post it's said things like, "racist", "slave raper", etc. Wolfe met with the group unofficially and the diversity program was put into effect. The group wasn't pleased and sent their set of demands.
The demands included: Wolfe must apologize for all recent racist actions (including the off campus event), Wolfe must resign, 10% of faculty must become black by a certain date, and mandatory diversity training must be given to veryone on campus created by a black leader. Wolfe ignored the list and the grad student is now starving himself to death until Wolfe leaves. No students have been physically harmed. No protests have been suppressed. No specific events have been egregiously handled. They didn't get their way and now a kid is starving himself.

Why does standing up for something mean the country is doomed?
On a side note, this corporatization of colleges is a mess. For profit colleges are laughably bad, and would close tomorrow but for federal student loans (so they idea that they are "Free market" is utter fiction).
For that model to work, then faculty pay will have to be tripled to bring in corporate types to teach. People are willing to take the low pay that universities offer, in return for a low stress life of teaching, reading, discussing, etc.
