Myself and some friends have been on a road up there a few times, lots of turns and twists, really fun. Never stopped to look though.

Little River Canyon is pretty rad too, near Ft Payne / Mentone, Alabama.
I almost like LRC as much as driving in the Smokies.

Louisiana has it's own natural beauty. Invest in a kayak.

It's Mississippi. It's the only canyon we could buy with welfare and food stamps.

Providence Canyon is a nice little day trip.
Little River Canyon is also a great place to hike and backcountry camp.
Cloudland Canyon in NW Ga is the largest gorge east of the Mississippi and is good for renting a cabin on the rim.

Red River Gorge in Kentucky is where it's at if you are into hiking. It is home to the largest collection of natural arches east of the Mississippi river. along with water falls and scenic views.

Wife, son, and I hiked it. Private property access, but people go back there all the time. If I remember correctly, there's a junked car at the bottom of thr canyon.
The road leading to the site is very scenic, too. Lots of motorcyclists.

Then we also got fricked on the whole beach thing
We got shafted in the division of the Louisiana Purchase.

In 1804, all of the Louisiana Purchase south of the 33rd parallel (approximately forms the border between Arkansas in the north and Louisiana on the south) became the Orleans Territory, and the remainder became the District of Louisiana.

That music was a little over dramatic

I'm surprised Mississippi folks haven't filled it up with trash dumping.

Palo Duro Canyon
Palo Duro is actually the 2nd largest canyon in the US. It's really badass.
