I assume you've included local and state agencies in your search efforts?

Damn, crazy this made the cut to TD. Guess my first mistake was bringing him to his moms house Wednesday night when we got into town.

Why would that be a mistake? It seems that his mom's house would be a safe place to be dropped off. Is he involved with drugs and you knew that he would be able to leave his moms house if he wanted?

I've known the guy for about 7-8 years. He's put himself in situations like this before. He's been working with me the last 7 months in Iowa and been with me damn near 24/7. As far as I knew he was off the wagon, but clearly I was wrong.

Yeah, this just reeks of involvement with drugs, especially if he's had addiction issues in the past. Hopefully he's just still holed up somewhere using and nothing worse has occurred here.

So, y'all fly to Iowa and don't take vehicles? Why would it be a mistake dropping someone at their mothers house?
Did he ever make it to get his luggage? Video? Pick someone up?
Eta: you know him. You gave him a ride home. From where?! Did you fly home together or drive home from Iowa. (i assume y'all flew). So did he ever make it to airport to retrieve his bags?

Was his luggage ever lost in the first place?

If the airline lose your luggage they usually deliver it to you these days

Yeah sounds odd, they'd usually deliver... But why would he leave his luggage somewhere overnight, just to have an excuse to leave the house to go get it?

They do but say your luggage gets in on the last flight of the night at BTR. It isn't going out for delivery until 5 or 6 the next afternoon. So when that has happened to me I'll just go run and pick it up if I need it since BTR is relatively close.

Our flight from Houston to BR was canceled so we got a rental and made the drive into town late Wednesday evening. Our bags did not come in on the flight later that night.
Our luggage did come in the following morning (Thursday) and I picked up his luggage for him. It's still sitting at the house, untouched.

So he wasn't on the way from his house to BTR to get his luggage? He was on the way from his house to yours?

This guy will turn up in Alabama with his boyfriend shortly.

That may have been a good excuse to get his mothers vehicle. He was never at any point trying to get his luggage. Let's go ahead and toss that out the window at this point.
