There's no way to predict how long it will take to confirm without knowing the location of the search parties. Also, whatever is in that picture is still floating around and will not be easy to spot again.

There was a tanker ship in the area. I am assuming that the USCG would have a chopper out there relatively quickly but I think protocol would be for communication on private channels.

That Facebook page is terrible from what I've heard. Yesterday, Some dumbasses were circulating an article from 2005 about to kids being rescued and people were going nuts thinking it was the Florida kids. Some moron here even posted it lol.
