Always have at least 3 things in the back of your mind that you’re working on or that you were doing. Next time you miss his call, use one.

My bosses know not to start any bullshite like that with me. I'm as cool as the other side of the pillow, but that's a good way to piss me off.

Maybe I’m too nice, but 9/10 times I will ping an employee on Teams and ask if it’s a good time before I call them. I do the same if I’m going to call my boss as well.

Depends on the relationship. My boss would say that and the next thing he’d get is a picture of me at a bar or drinking a bourbon.

My boss called me on my first day of work. He asked what I was doing and asked if I was OK. I thought thats kinda strange.
Told him I was laying in bed smoking a cigarette thinking about coming in. He said OK just checking with you making sure you're working today..... and then I looked at the clock and saw I was an hour late.
OH F### I'll be right in. Nothing like doing the you're late walk of shame on your first day.
