It means he isn’t offering a position or salary that will attract qualified candidates. Simple as that.
Some would go so far as to call it "free market capitalism".

You probably should’ve thought about that when you voted for it

What is the ridiculously high wage that is going to be enforced in Louisiana? Honest question.

Well congrats, you may get both as workers are laid off due to the ridiculously high wage.
Why is McDonald's laying people off? Is the demand for burgers going to go down due to this?

I'm sure making burger flippers think their "skill" is worth $20 an hour has absolutely nothing to do with it. Just like I'm also sure government handouts that are worth more than the wages these jobs pay have nothing to do with it either.

That’s what is funny - “the wage is fine” - clearly it is not.
$30/hour with free day care in rural WI. Can't fill jobs. Now hiring illegals. (For less)
Single mommas would rather collect government checks/child support and lay on the couch.

Because they don't need as many when the orders are taken via app and self serve kiosks.

I'm not worried so much about the bottom minimum, more so that when they artificially inflate that to combat the rampant inflation they also created, they don't respond by boosting up the other levels, in what essentially amounts to a demotion.
frick this economy and this bullshite

Not responding directly to you but the responses in this thread is why boomers need to die off. They have no sense of reality and the cost of doing anything these days. “Move”
Median 1b apt for US: 1700
Deposit = 1 month rent :1700
First month rent = 1700
Break lease = 1000 (assuming cheap arse apartment)
Moving truck = $500 for a decent distance move
What poor person has spare 7k for a move you idiots

That's your opinion, and the market will decide if your opinion is correct. We don't need the government saying all types of work are worth whatever arbitrary number they pick off the dart board.
The government has arbitrarily decided economic winners and losers for my whole lifetime.
Financial crisis- AIG employees here is your taxpayer funded bonus. Lehman employees enjoy the breadline.
COVID- Let’s force everyone to shop at a handful of massive grocery chains and online retailers based on speculative science.
All of our country’s most powerful companies, Apple, Google, Meta, etc., are derivative of government-funded research. Our largest trade partner is a communist nation.
This let the market decide narrative is nonsense. We haven’t lived in a free market system for decades, and yet fake conservative media types only seem to complain about this when it negatively affects the elite class.
Ask yourself this, if we were really living in a free market system, do you think every major corporation would push the same social politics? Do you think the invisible hand is leading to these job postings that only accept POC or LGBT applicants?
Be against a minimum wage if you like. I don’t think it makes a positive or negative difference. It’s just an inflationary pressure. But if your reasoning is, “but the free market,” you need a reality check.

Youre the dummy who counted the 1700 x 3.
Apartments across most of the country are less than $1700/mo
If you work min wage, get a roomate or live with mom.
