the anger continues. I'm not sure why you would make such assumptions about someone you know nothing about.

You are projecting bigly. I'm going to continue making my assumption that your kids are worthless millennials and this is the place where you get to fulminate on that.

That’s because boomers didn’t pay out the arse for a useless education expecting to be handed mid management level wages upon graduation. Instead, they went to work in trades or worked their way up from good paying entry level manufacturing jobs. The jobs that your useless college professors, the msm, and slime ball politicians from both sides of the aisle along with their corporate suitors told you were beneath you and sold out to foreigners in 2nd and 3rd world countries.

They earned more because they produced more. They were simply more valuable as a human resource than the average millennial.

The boomers in the government is largely why everything is fricked up.

Why is college cost skyrocketing? Because the boomers in government thought it would be a great idea to get into the student loan game.

Personal responsibility. Get some.

Now go shine up those participation trophies.

Again making assumptions and projecting.

I do not fit the "millennial" stereotype at all, but the Boomer lack of awareness (and responsibility for the shitty generation) is strong in you.

There are exceptions, but generally speaking this is accurate.

Based on what data besides your two anecdotal stories?

That means nothing unless we know the salary you left. I don't expect you to tell us BTW.

I am a boomer....

permanently retired at age 50, with a 110 thousand income for the next 30 years

salaried not a speculator

had stay at home wife 3 kids

about 3 years of college expense for kids at 100thousand per year

graduated with chem engr. degree at 20 and stayed with same company for 30 years

started the process by comparing the high school courses I liked and searching media for jobs that were related and paid well

every year I would update the 5 year plan to address changes at work and personnel life to position for changes in the large company

5 0f the 9 pages of comment on this thread occurred between 1150 and 0100 today which describes folks as unable to make productive use of their free time so they stick their nose in social media. millinenial's are hampered by social media, boomers were not.

Ah yes, the wonderful OT. Where everyone is taller, better looking and richer than the rest of the country. All you have to do is google the average savings of millennials to see that they don't save. I know, I know...you are different.

I am done. I know what I see routinely in the real world.

Ok.

The average salary boost when switching jobs is between 10 and 20 percent according to forbes in 2018.

In what world is sticking around for 4-6% match (at the lower salary) better for someone's long term financial health than a 10-20% raise?

I just don't understand why you are going on and on about this when the data is so clearly against you?

Ummm maybe you should google. Millennials blow every other generation out of the water in terms of savings by a certain age.

The average millennial with a 401k with fidelity has a little less than half of the average boomer. The same boomers that had 20+ more years of work under their belts.

Thanks for proving my point. The ones that are in forced savings plans/401k have decent money. Imagine if they couldn't participate in this 25% of the time every 4 years. You think their balance would be the same?

I am really done this time.

Imagine having a mountain of data to rely on, and then deciding the opposite of what the data says is the truth.

Millennials own 4% of all U.S. real estate at the end of last year, compared with 12.9% for Gen X when they were at the same age in 2002. Boomers held about 32% in 1990 when the middle of the generation was around 35.

Who needs to own property when all you need is a tent to set up on a sidewalk and the world is your bathroom?

Imagine ignoring the large raises that come with that lmao.

This is also not to mention that most companies allow you to participate from day 1.
