I posted this thinking people would be bashing the 911 operator. I really wasn't expecting the bashing of the mother.

To be fair the ones bashing the mother seem to be the vocal minority judging by the downvotes they're getting. Most realize the 911 operator fricked up and aren't blaming the mother, this is an incident that police should have known about and responded to.

Possibly. She could also benefit from a dispatcher telling her to seek help in her area from neighbors, bystanders, etc.

Agree, while the dispatcher sends either an officer or EMS.

I guess this is how some of you picture yourselves.

Nah I would have just pulled out my nuts and swung them against the glass, shattering it immediately and saving that child from anymore sweating.

Your particular criticism of her is retarded.

I love how saying both parties could've handled things better sets off 90% of this place.

That she was over-reliant on 911.

Because the mom handled it perfectly dude

SHe actively tried to break the glass as she got someone else to call 911

Eventually the mother found a way to break the glass

Your take in here is extremely puzzling

I mean, if that how you're reading it to feel better about your take, cool. That's not why you and salmon are catching shite though.

I haven't criticized her for any of this FWIW

In fact, I said she handled it perfectly and that she should be proud of herself.

I criticized her for complaining to the media.

When public workers screw up this bad and jeopardize human safety, I think the media should be made aware so the public can know

1. Anyone can accidentally lock their keys in the car. I dare say there’s probably none here who haven’t done this at least once.

2. To those wondering why she couldn’t bust the window, all you’re doing is showing ignorance of the strength of the average woman compared to the average car window.

3. Salmon, you’ve made a complete arse of yourself in this thread. I’m embarrassed for you.

4. The dispatcher needs to be fired immediately.
