This is an interesting social experiment. Will NBC fire a black person for insensitive comments?

We all know what it would be like the other way around.

I recommend listening to Joe Rogen from two weeks ago when he had Shane Gillis on. He’s the comedian that was hired and fired from snl for making a racist joke about Asians. They dug it up from his past and he never even appeared on the show. He goes into details about how a huge corporation like NBC and Lorne Michaels react when something like this happens

What do yall mean when you say this? Do you assume that everyone on SNL or in the entertainment business all have the same exact views on everything?

Like a lot of people who work for a corporation or a big company, to some degree you are expected to support a certain idea, etc. While you don't have to go all in on it, there are certain mindsets that are sort of expected.. As they say.. "walk the company line" (yeah I get it, I can't walk the company line. ha ha.. nothing funnier than an obvious joke)..

So I think that is how it is for the cast on SNL.. Just like it is at other networks.

Last night, I was listening to Bill Burr's latest podcast episode. He mentioned something that happened with some woman somewhere he went.. He said something like "that woman has given me so much content and I can't wait for my next show. I had to take out 10 mins of some older stuff in order to add this"..

My point is, I think comedians think different. Sure, they are all different, some or more political than others, etc, etc.. But I think more than you realize are probably more concerned about coming up with new material that people will laugh at than some political agenda.

That's not the point. People have been making similar jokes about Michael Jackson, even more recent.

My favorite Michael Jackson joke come from Chris Rock.. When he is like "And Michael Jackson... Another Kid? Another Kid?" and he says some other stuff and then talks about how he arrives to court late dressed like captain crunch.. and he is like "how are you a black man, going to court late dressed like captain crunch..

Look what Chappelle did on Comedy Central. He made a sketch about a blind black white supremacist who didn't know he was black, because he couldn't see.. And when he found out he was black, he divorced his white wife because she was a nword lover...

Honestly, SNL is just Woke Church at this point. They act no different towards outsiders and bad think as Pentecostals.

I get what you are trying to say, but he’s not that type of comedian. Yes he may have started in stand up, and got this gig. But he sold out to the machine and is employed by a yuuuuge player in the politically correct/cancel culture news network! The joke was not even funny!

You can’t compare Chappelle and Bill Burr to Other comedians, much less those on SNL.

He must watch Samantha Bee, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel.

I will say this, I have never watched a whole episode of all three of their shows, but every once in awhile, flipping through the channels, I will stop on these shows and to see if I can try to understand why that shite is still on air.

Kimmel was funny back in the day and watched his show when we were both mutually obsessed with LOST. He was absolutely glorious in the Conan-Leno feud. But how the mighty have fallen. Turned into a huge pussy.

Colbert I’m convinced was never actually funny, he was just a fantastic performer and came up with a great character for his show. Samantha Bee just sucked always. I guess she was the price we had to pay Canada for also giving us Norm MacDonald.

As for as Stephen Colbert, no one can convince me that he draws higher ratings than what James Corden would draw if he was moved in his slot.

Cordon is a fricking hack as well. Outside of Carpool Karaoke, the show sucks. He blew Fauci a few weeks ago and praised Nancy Pelosi and her $17 a pint ice cream. At least Colbert called out Kamala on her hypocrisy.

Wasn't it NBC that dropped Kevin Hart from hosting the Oscars (or one of those award shows) because a few years earlier he was joking around on twitter about his son playing with his daughter's princess castle and that he told him to stop because he didn't want his boy to grow up gay?

Anything considered "homophobic" or "transphobic" trumps everything else I think. Its actually pretty interesting.

A white can be caught saying the N word.. then go visit an African American museum, issue an apology and recover.. But if ANYONE says something homo or transphobic it will cost them jobs.

She isn't a comedian, but Kelly in Vegas (she is a sports handicapper who worked for Bleacher Report, Wager Talk and now barstool) had a job at ESPN. Contracts were signed, she sold her house in Las Vegas and literally, on her way to ESPN to start her job, she gets a call informing her that her contract had been terminated because of a tweet she sent in the early 2010s (I guess you call it? It was from 2011, 2012ish) where some dude tweeted something to her and she called him a f-g.

SNL needs to be canceled, it hasnt been remotely funny since john belushi was there

Ummm, that’s not true:

Also Belushi, as Norm correctly pointed to Farley during his life when Farley felt like he wasn’t living up to his idol, was actually never funny, he was just a brilliant performer.

Norm MacDonald on Weekend Update making pedo jokes

ETA: More norm from same video, timestamped: LINK

Norm almost got fired for this joke and was only done in the dress rehearsal where the audience booed him into an oblivion, but I think it might be the funniest (and probably most fricked up) joke:

“In other news Woody Allen is dating again!”

What? I am not saying its bad, I am just saying that was allowed on network tv.. I guess CC isn't considered network TV right? Its cable? Either way, instead of making a subtle post, can you explain what you are referring to?
