Miami To Bahamas Advice

Anyone ever taken a day/two day cruise from miami to the bahamas? Thinking about doing it in Sept/Oct.
I'll probably stay in South Beach for a couple days, and then try to go to the bahamas for a day or two.

There used to be an airline that flew belly flopping flying boats from Miami to Nassau. But I don't think they had airbags so maybe that's not for you

The flights used to be less than $100 each way. Seems like a lot better option.

I have. It was okay. The ship wasn't anything great but the pricing wasn't bad.

If you never been to the Bahamas about a day or two is enough (some would say too much?) for you to get a taste of it.
The only ferry service I know of is from Port Everglades to Grand Bahama. No thanks.
Once you visit Freeport or Nassau, you'll come to swift realization why visiting Turks & Caicos over the Bahamas are preferred by authentic OT Ballers.

If that's your point of reference, sure. It's like saying the United States sucks because you visited Newark and Buffalo because Nassau and Freeport are terrible.
The Out Islands of the Bahamas are a true paradise and having been to both, I don't see any additional benefit to the Turks and Caicos.

Bimini Super Fast runs a boat out of Port of Miami 2 or 3 times a week that goes to Bimini and back. LINK Resort world is one of my clients
You can also fly American out of Mia airport to North Eleuthera and go to Harbour Island pretty easily.
Watermakers out of Ft Lauderdale exuctive goes to Staniel Cay Daily
These are what I would recommend. Stay away from Nassau and Freeport

The problem with the Bahamas is the main two cities are where about 97.3% of tourists go when visiting. I grant you there are wonderful places to visit in the Bahamas and the vast majority of tourists to will never see them because they are in their wife beaters and cheap flip-flops at Atlantis worried about the buffet.
Nassau and Freeport are the armpits of the Bahamas.
The new Chinese resort in Nassau will not improve the situation.
The average clientele at T&C is much preferable to be around than the average Bahamain tourist.
