Anyone have any experience with them? Rates seem really good but do they increase after they hook you in? Or not pay claims?

Bingo at least in my experience. No claims and rates probably went up almost 50% in a 3 year window.

I had bundled my home and auto with them, have already switched. So I never actually made a claim with them. I know their grand protect policies on paper were very good coverage with very little restrictions.

I’ve had them a couple of years. Rates haven’t gone up significantly.

Have them for home as well, and recently had a roof claim paid and the process was very smooth. Can’t speak to auto claims.

Same here. No claims experience yet to speak of.

ETA: I have both home and auto with them.

Had them for years for auto & umbrella, and only minor increases on auto (NOLA area). They offer a safety program you can take (online) that will also reduce your bill by 3-5%. I think the class takes about 20-30 minutes to complete, but it's been a few years

I have never had a claim with them so cannot speak to this.

I have MetLife auto bundled with homeowners. No significant rate increases that I've noticed (other than me adding a teenage driver to the policy). No auto claims yet, but the homeowners claim for roof damage was a painless process.

I priced auto policies at my current limits with a couple other insurers several months ago and MetLife was still lower.

Thanks for the input. In my experience house claims are worse than car claims so it is a good sign that your experience was positive.

I had them for 3 to 4 years. Substantially cheaper than everyone else to start. We signed up for year long policy terms. Each year we noticed a sizable increase in premiums (no claims). After 3 or 4 years the policy was obviously over priced. We called our agent and shipped new policies and got back down to where we originally were with met life through another company.

No harm in accepting the policy if it's the best price. Just watch it for a few years and switch again if needed.

I had them for apprx 5 years. They were cheaper then all until I bought a new truck and gave my 17 yr old my old truck in 2020. Didn't experience any major claim issues with them. My independent agent shopped and found progressive to be cheaper than metlife.

I have them for auto and they have been great.

I was hit and the other person was at fault. I called MetLife because she had shitty insurance and they let me make a claim remotely via their app taking pictures and videos. Got to bring it to a body shop of my choice and they paid the shop directly. I'm sure they're gonna subrogate their loss to the at fault driver's insurance now.
