this is one of the poorer areas of the state. people arent living there just trying to "live the simple life" they are there because its all they have ever known. its where they where born and have never left.....
point is...someone is bringing something to the area that will help them...yet they complain and bitch. Its the same that happens all over this state. Its annoying as frick. every bit of progress is met with bitching from people that are poor AF.
its the same shite in lake charles....everyone has bitched for 3 decades that we need a new bridge...as soon as construction starts everyone is all over facebook bitching. its annoying AF

Undoubtedly.
Also, take into account that Richland is all flat, alluvial plane with a water table that usually starts around 10-20 feet down. Digging up the amount of dirt they need for that massive facility would necessitate taking out enough to make a whole other reservoir and we know only local politicians are allowed to do that.
