My college roommate (RIP) lived in central Wisconsin. When I went to visit them, we went to Menard's. Way better than either HD or Lowe's.
Agree on ACE. Sucks that my favorite one here in town (we have 3) moved across town, but it's in a bigger space and has more stuff now.

Indiana resident here with the option for all three.
Still go to Lowe’s.
Prefer “Connoly’s Do It Best” hardware stores though for the small stuff.
I’ve heard of Fleet Farm, too. Don’t have one close enough though.

They are one of my customers and their stores are IMHO the best home improvement stores.
They would go great in the South but the family builds all their stores out of cash flow so they only build a relatively few stores per year. I think they have 350+ stores.
Where else can you buy a gallon of milk, a pair of jeans and a 2x4 in one stop???

Like huge Tractor Supply stores with a much bigger selection of hardware and sporting goods. Also a family owned chain.

Anyone on here know about Rural King? There's one about to open where I live. Never heard of them.
There's this dead as hell mall in Ashland, KY that has one for an anchor and the only reason why that mall is still open. It was like Tractor Supply but much larger.

in the markets where there are all three Menards outsells HD and Lowes.
When they move into a market they try to locate next to their competitors.

Looks like Branson MO is the location of the southernmost Menard's.
Southern baws out of luck.
I can spend hours in a Menard's. Hell, they even have their own line of O scale model trains. Apparently because the owner likes them.

Ace is the place. In and out in a few minutes with what I need and a bag of popcorn
I have to agree, I live 5 minutes from one and they are always helpful and friendly. Really helpful and it’s packed with more stuff than it seems

Their creative graphics looks like something turned in after a weekend of shrooms pot and procrastination.

Fleetfarm >Menard's>Lowes> HomeDepot
In New Orleans I guess the Kenner HomeDepot would be the best.
Lowes in NOE closed a few years ago.
Lowes near downtown and depot near the super dome are sketchy.
Original NOE HomeDepot built in 1996 or 1997, which years ago was a high volume store is like a ghost town now.

I pass one of these near our shop in Minnesota
I thought Minnesota had Farm & Fleet (Blaine’s) and Wisconsin has Fleet Farm (Mills). I heard the brothers had a falling out and it lead to the two different versions.

I don't like Lowe's, especially the one in Lafayette on Ambassador. My first go to is Stine and then Broussard Home Depot.
Stine's drive through lumber setup is the tits.

Broussard Home Depot.
My go to only because of location but if they stick one more aisle display in the front, shoppers will not be able to pass a shopping cart.

Everything in Kenner is dingy.
