Started with a white gold one. Didn't like it, kept taking it off. Switched to a tungsten carbide--kept taking that one off too. Wife finally got me one of these for like $15:

Not trolling, this is seriously my experience with most men I know that wear their wedding band.
The men I know that don't wear a ring are typically older and been happily married for a long time
