When do these things get hacked and start stabbing their owners?

Robot gets hacked and starts busting down the door in the middle of the night.

Dog going nuts.

You smash yor foot scrambling around in the dark looking for the remote to the robot.

No way you can sleep with that kind of contingency going on in the back of your mind.

But who knows,.we all might end up at old folks homes staffed by robots. Last days spent living an episode of Black Mirror.

Can it assemble a Big Mac and run a fry station? Seriously. How close are we to a ton of jobs being replaced.

1X, the AI and robotics company behind a $20,000 home robot that will clean your house and water your plants, wants potential customers to know two things:

First, the Neo Robot has several layers of security that will prevent it from transforming into the Terminator and becoming a murder bot.

Second, the company will need you to sign a waiver, allowing human operators to see through the robot’s eyes and help it perform tasks around your home.

Thing is sketch as frick.

Assuming they are going to bang you up for software upgrades every time it gets more abilities. Otherwise 20k is unbelievably cheap for what it sounds like it has the potential to do.

MKBHD did a video on this yesterday, I believe. In short, it basically can't do a single thing on its own except slowly walk to the door and almost stumble when opening the door.

Everything else in the demo is being remote controlled by a human.

That can't be real, but if it is real, then the nursing home industry about to get a boom.
