Medical Marijuana and drug testing

Anyone here have a medical marijuana license and had a drug test through your employer since? Any issues? I know its still federally classified as a schedule 1 drug and employers can still fire or not hire you as a result correct?

It makes no difference whatsoever the legal status of marijuana. It is at the complete discretion of the employer to decide whether or not they will allow positive marijuana tests.

I used to manage a door to door sales team. The company we contracted with wanted us to do a surprise drug test. My team had many weed smokers, none medical. I thought I was about to lose 75% of team. No one failed. I was later told they bought artificial urine kits at a head shop.

True. There are some companies that even test for tobacco and will not hire you if you smoke

It depends on the company. I know one that has tons of vehicles (non-DOT) that explicitly excluded marijuana testing for all employees because they would lose most of their workforce if they did.

I know its all out of pocket as insurance companies do not cover medical marijuana.

Had one the other day for a large corporation. The test was 5 panel and did not test for THC.

Yeah, my daughter (no pics) works for Amazon and she claims their drug testing doesn't check for weed.

I think places just don't care about weed anymore.
Delta8 and CBD will make you pop positive, the tests they use can't tell the difference, they are looking for a metabolized cannabinoid that they all produce.
