I disagree with the English and reading. We have engineers with their doctorates who can barely write a sentence, but they are brilliant. Many of them are from overseas though.

Nice.
I see your equation as 0x0
Importance of math/TigerHuskers = The end of the world.

Just taking a poll.....When you breathe, is your mouth open or closed?
If you answered open.....Do you breathe through your mouth or nose?

Unless you're in engineering, anything beyond "please excuse my dear aunt Sally" is useless.
But don't underestimate the importance of the fundamentals.

Or finance. Or scientific research. Or reading political polls.

**How I imagine OP's math class went:

Truest comment in this thread.
I can't even stir my coffee or look at a street light without thinking about all the forces acting on it and how they are derived from mathematical concepts.

Math programs are amazing now. If we had MathCad Prime back in college physics would have been much more interesting.

Nice antidotal evidence there. I'm a software engineer and use math I learned in school all day. There goes your absolutely moronic argument.

Math is the underlying music of life.
It surrounds us every moment...it is a beautiful thing.

Unless you're serious about long distance marksmanship.

I still say the best class I ever took in HS was an elective. Consumer Math. Taught everyday things, like balancing a checkbook, and even taught about the stock market. Much more useful than solving for X. And I still say Math classes are more useful than Science classes.

I'm not not a very smart man but I think Math is right up there with Medicine.
