I believe 1/42 is the correct answer.
But there are only 21 socks in the drawer! I guess I didn't consider the possibly of this dumb bitch coming up empty-handed!

This would be the case I think if she had to match two random socks on his first two picks. However, the question asks can he match the one he's already drawn so I think you eliminate the 1/22 because it's a given she's going to draw a sock.

First 1 / 22 second 1 / 21 add them 2 / 43, 43 + 2 = 45
45 - 1 = 35 carry the decimal = 3.50
The answer is Tree Fiddy!

C5 20= 20!/(5!*15!)=20*19*18*17*16/5!=4*19*18*17*16/5!
Whatever that is.

Take i, square it, and negate the result.

Divide the result of that calculation by seven, then by the square root of 9.

Pretty simple if you think about it.

color and design

You have to grab color and design. Two variables. It's not 1/21. Use the computation formula and not the permutation. Plug and play if you understand.

I did 20!/15! X 5!

Ended up being like 15,540

No clue if it’s right but it’s what I’m going with

Actually the answer is 100%. Unless the bitch is blind she will pick the matching sock.

It’s not 1/21. One sock is akready removed from selection

If 1 of the original 22 has already been removed then there are 21 remaining.

If only 1 of the remaining 21 matches then..........

Sally has 11 pairs of socks in her drawer. Each pair is a different color and design, but they are not together as pairs; they are just in her drawer scattered about. With her left hand, Sally reaches in and picks one sock.

a. While holding that one sock in her left hand, Sally reaches into the drawer and picks another sock. What is the probability of her getting a sock that will match the sock in her left hand?

Is she coordinated enough to pick a new sock while still holding onto the oringinal sock?
