How did the fire get so big. Seems to me the firemen would have been on the scene in no time with their Ferrari fire cars and Lamborghini Fire trucks

I haven't seen anything being reported one way or the other.

Its almost as if the UAE imposed a media blackout because very very little is now coming across twitter right now.

Injury toll ranges from 14 - 60
Police chief Major General Khamis Matar told Al Arabiya television: "All residents of the hotel were evacuated and there are 14 injured, with light injuries."
But a medic on the scene who declined to be identified told Reuters new agency: "There are more than 60 people injured with light injuries from smoke inhalation and from crowding while in the stairs evacuating the building."

Watching some feeds on periscope. Big fire is gone. Lots of black smoke and smaller fires burning on most floors.

Worse reported injury was someone had a heart attack during evacuations. That is amazing no one was killed.

That's a simplex 4120U fire alarm network in that building I wonder if it performed correctly?

Arabic countries are known for under reporting injuries/deaths a ton. It could be a lot worse.

Human life isn't something they put a lot of stock in. Even if anyone did die, ten times more will die rebuilding that thing.

I would absolutely love to go there for a long vacation, but I'll probably always be to scared to travel to that part of the world.
