A witness on the Los Angeles NBC channel is verifying that shots were being fired from different directions.
He also suspects the shooters were on Las Vegas Blvd shooting at the exits. He says people were helping each other over the barricades.

Correct. Shooters appear to be firing from the Mandalay Bay NW to the concert site. In the direction of the Luxor and Trop. People would be fleeing in the direction of NYNY, MGM, Aria, etc.
