He ate a bullet pretty quick for having an escape plan.
That's why what is continued to be called a "meticulous, well thought out plan" doesn't really seem like much of a plan.

You could chalk that up to the old Mike Tyson theory though...."everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth"

Another part of the puzzle that I'm really curious to learn. He's 30 something floors up, unleashing gunfire from hell. His car was hundreds of yards away in a parking lot. He knows that LEO and SWAT will be everywhere, not to mention just the tons of people in the casino. What exactly was his plan to escape?
Actually, that would be the way to do it. Walk anonymously to your car, which is stationed outside of the area you know will be cordoned off.

Be cool. Blend in evacuating the building.
Maybe he thought he had more time and the first contact by authorities surprised him.

Parachute?
To where? The place where all the cops, and swat, and people are?

Didn't he have suction type cups with him? People thought that was to keep the glass from falling ... maybe those were suppose to be used to escape up the glass to the roof? I can't see a 64 yr old doing that but i also couldn't have imagined a 64 yr old going on a killing spree.

And as I mentioned on the previous page, he barricaded the stairwell. So how exactly did he plan on escaping?

Why are these details being released but nothing about his motivations?

They're probably not clear on his motivations yet. And the leaks could be unauthorized, or sometimes investigators leak shite on purpose for various reasons.
Drawing conclusions at this point based on what info has been released or not released is really skeptical.
When has a lack of FACTUAL INFORMATION ever stopped the press. I'm pretty sure the media was pushing the Right Wing Shooter narrative when Steve Scalise was shot. Only when they had different info did they stop.
The potential exists that the media hasn't framed this up as a right wing gun toting terrorist because they know it's not true. Sometimes it's as important what isn't said as much as what is.
There was a note in that room that the Sheriff can't seem to recall but KNOWS it's not a suicide note (from the press briefing last night). If the pictures leaked from the scene I'd be willing to bet the contents of the note did too and I'd be willing to bet it doesn't fit the preferred media narrative.

He didn't plan on escaping. He knew he was going to die that night.

That's my point. He has no tats in the death photo, but the pic they had on the news the first 24 hours looks to me like he has a tattoo.

Sheriff said he an escape plan.
I guess escape and getting away with it are 2 different things. He couldn't have taken his guns so they would have had him as a suspect pretty quick...and renting the room

Would be pretty tough, considering he was running back and forth between windows and firing thousands of rounds of ammo, but OK. So then what? They have his name, and APB goes out immediately, and he's arrested. Do you really think he would be able to just walk away and not be found? And no perimeter would be set up?

Worst plan ever. He's in a Las Vegas Casino, for God's sake. If he was surprised by the first contact by authorities (which was what, like 10-15 minutes after he started shooting?), then he was borderline special ed.

Jesus Clyde, that is pretty obviously just wrinkles on an old fart's neck.

You asked what his plans were. I'm just guessing. I don't do a lot of mass shooting/escape type scenarios in my head.

I think that's just hair. Honestly imo.

The "blend in" escape could only remotely possibly work if he did one quick gunfire burst, and then immediately headed out to blend in before anyone even knew it happened. And he would have used fake ID, etc.
To think you could walk out and blend in after 10-15 minutes of solid gunfire? No rational person could believe that would be an escape plan.
