Read this on fox, anybody know any details of this. The article just mentioned this but nothing else and I thought earlier they said he has no record of any kind.

I just want to thank all the posters that have provided accurate information. I refuse to watch any american news media of any kind and I only obtain my information from TD.

I don't think investigators try to make sense of the actions of these people. They clearly want to document all of the facts, but trying to string it all together is a futile practice. I don't believe they burden themselves with questions about why he had so many guns, why he killed himself, etc.

I just want to come in and say this story makes me sick to my stomach. Las Vegas is one place I absolutely love to go to, but beyond that, just the thought that these poor people were enjoying a concert and this mad man just started shooting down from Mandalay Bay is sad. You never really know when someone will snap and do something like this.
It obviously seems like this is something he planned, but the scary thing is.. There were no signs of anything from this guy. Just a relatively well off retired guy with no criminal history.. It's just tragic.

Pretty much. They'll gather all of the info and let researchers at various universities try to connect the dots. No point in wasting tax payer money on a futile connecting of the dots by investigators. Let the schools figure it out. It always works out...

I think I laid out my point clearly, but just to reiterate, they're interested in the facts of the case. They're not going to speculate on why he had 10 guns unless there is some clear reason for doing so. If you're looking for everything to be tied up with a nice little bow, you'll be disappointed.

Not trying to defend Fox News, but it was reported earlier as just said in this thread that the shooter "was known to authorities". I don't know what was meant by that, but I'm guessing they'll be something coming out about it.

No shite. Like the police are going to say.. "Welp, this guy killed 50+ people injured hundreds more. We killed him. No point in looking into anything else. There is a chance it could be linked to something bigger or maybe we can learn something from knowing why he did this, but we will just give it to a few colleges. It would be a good case for them to work on"
