Worst kind of crime. Blaming crazy for being crazy is just un-satisfactory so people lose their minds. Totally senseless. Just like crazy people. Then the crazy fricker shoots himself. So we don't even get to hear any batshit ramblings.
The problem of mental illness in this country is not going anywhere and there isn't shite we can do about it. That's just fact. There is no money in solving the problem. And we can't dial back the clock to sanitarium/sanitorium days.
It's easier to argue for the next 10 years about guns. Whether we should carry them open, carry concealed, what can be carried, magazine limits, to AR or not AR, and finally argue whether or not a crazy guy should have one or not. This argument is easier. Guns ARE fun to own and shoot. A crazy frick is not fun to have, and sad to shoot. Guns win and lose elections. Crazy doesn't.
It may have been brought up. I am not skimming 20 pages. A mall in Lafayette Louisiana and not one CHL guy there? I am only asking. I do not know. This whole thing may have taken 90 seconds. I own a handgun, but no CHL. I want to own more.
What would I have done in that theater? Keep that shite in my waist and run like hell with family? Start spraying bullets like Axel Foley while running and diving behind a door? I have the idea in my head of 2 in the chest and one in the head, then sit and calmly wait for police. But I might shoot my own thigh Plaxico style, and clip 2 innocent people before dying in a hail of police bullets.

I wonder if FBI / CIA was monitoring this guy. He's using his real name and posting crazy stuff about the U.S., and basically praising hitler and Timothy McVeigh.

Guy at my work was neighbors for years with his brother in Columbus, GA. The shooter frequently visited his brother and my coworker knew him decently well
Supposedly the guy had been busted by Georgia Bureau of Investigation for trying to hire a GBI agent to commit arson.
Guy would openly talk about joining the French Foreign legion despite having kids. Always was in your face pro confederate flag, not even just "heritage" stuff.
Coworker said his brother is legit awesome guy/neighbor who is straight and narrow and the shooter was always a black sheep and crazy

this shite seems so surreal happening in Lafayette
thankful this coward stuck the barrel in his mouth saving taxpayers from money spent on a trial dragged out over several years, criminal defense attys from trying to argue "he was crazy", and most importantly.... saving families from re-living this senseless tragedy in the court room
prayers sent for the victims and their families
Lafayette is a very tight knit community as we will be stronger and support all those affected during this time of mourning
