The simple act of keeping an extra mask in your vehicle is an insurmountable task? Id hate to live a life where that is the pinnacle of having things "figured out"

Shocking to you but sometimes a person might forget to bring a stupid fricking mask everywhere. Masks are supposed to be washed often (they’re useless against viruses but quickly get dirty and must be cleaned) so—and follow me here—even though I keep a handful in my car, they get used by me and my kids and therefore have to be washed all the time and sometimes I leave the house without grabbing a clean one. It’s crazy I know.

A mask is generally a useless strip of cotton fabric. So as a small business owner who claims to care about his business, you can either go psycho mask enforcement and signall all the virtues OR you can accommodate folks who forgot their masks but are willing and trying to comply in some other equally useless way by allowing them to pull their shirts above their face. Or use toilet paper. Or have a box of cheap masks.

And there are businesses who don’t enforce the masks at all. There’ll be a sign on the door but I’ve yet to go into any gun store in which a single employee is wearing a mask. Somehow they get away with it.

Sounds like a mask prevented you from spending more money.

Weird. I went to buy feed at Tractor Supply on Friday. I had my mask (just to keep Karens happy). I was the only one wearing one........including the employees.

I went to Indian Pines - which I'm sure you know where it is - to play 9 because the weather was so nice down south about a week ago. The pro shop had the typical "You Must Wear a Mask Inside" sign on the entry doors, and I believe they are required by the city/state to do so. The first thing the guy behind the counter says to me is that I don't have to wear a mask if I don't want to do so. There were 7-8 locals inside the pro shop that didn't even bother to bring one. No one on the course wore a mask (not suprising), and when I finished up I went into their grille... same thing, no masks.

I bought one of those masks that the AU coaches wear, and cut out the thin, inside layer of the mask. Its a bit like breathing through screened-in porch material. So it doesn't matter anyway, but it was nice that a local business made it so welcoming for customers. For those that choose to wear a mask, you can either do so or simply stay home. Customer's choice.

I was kicked out of a subway for not wearing a mask.

I went to my car and wrapped a pair of blue jeans around my head and face like a jihad and went back in.

Nobody said shite other than laughs from a few other hungry people.

What a waste of cash, but hey, it will look all nice and shiny, and the neighbors will know the name

The OT is facination with this. Half the board laughs if you aren’t buying Premiul Deluxe. The other half hates anyone who can afford a step above WalMart Equate brand. It’s what the Left wants, class warfare microcosm.

So you want businesses to close down?

You missed the part where I spend $200 a week for these "cheap" masks. People aren't forgetting them. They just want to not where them and pass the issue on to the business.

Actually, maybe this is less about masks and more about that retailer being shitty.

I'll bite. How were they being shitty? If that's the company policy they have to adhere to it.

Also, who right now doesn't have a mask in their car at all times? It's pretty damned silly not to have one.

For the “you should have a mask” part, I normally have one or two on the dashboard. However my wife and her sister (hot, not overly crazy and hot, crazy af) had used the vehicle just prior to me and I didn’t notice the mask(s) missing until I was already at the store.

Honestly I’d be frustrated too if I were you. You have this burden placed on you by government. I’m tired of masks but I never purposely enter businesses without a mask to make a statement. but I do sometimes forget mine. But yeah I bet a lot of people do try to make a statement and it gets exhausting and expensive to keep buying masks for people.

I got mad back last fall when a local coffee shop in Katy called Blockhouse Coffee wouldn’t sell me a cup of coffee one morning bc I was maskless. Again, I simply forgot mine and offered to pull my shirt over my nose or even stand outside while they make my coffee. Nope. No accommodation even considered. There was one other customer there—sitting at a table maskless. So I drove through McDonald’s for a coffee.

Some small businesses just don’t make things easier on themselves. From reading this thread, you are doing your best at great cost so I apologize for being a dick.

I never thought you were being a dick and I hope I did not come across as one. Just a difference of opinion and get where you are coming from. As you stated, the people trying to make a statement are making things worse. I had a guest politely tell me he would choose to eat somewhere else. I thanked him for handling it that way and he said he would be back when things are done with. It really is that simple but someone people cannot do that

You can buy 50 for $5. That is 10,000 masks a month. That is a lot of traffic not including the ones that come with a mask. Tell them to have a mask or get out. The guy down the street would welcome that kind of traffic.

You people who keep going places and being surprised they want you to wear a mask are exhausting
