Believing that running away from police doesn't warrant being shot at when you are not a violent criminal makes me "what's wrong with this country"?
Why is it a policeman's job to institute corporal punishment? The fact is, this guy was not a danger to society and he was killed along with his child. That is not justice. Now if he had opened fire on the officers, it's a different story. But he didn't. Police are not military. There job is to protect the public and detain criminals without putting anyone in harm. It is the court systems job to prosecute, not the police.

that is such a stupid statement.
so the lesson you want people to learn is to run from the cops b/c they'll just try to catch you later, and you can run from them again later, and again later.
You are what's wrong with this country.
Clearly it was so much smarter to engage him they way they did. :roll eyes:

Is he wrong? Do you not think you are putting your life in danger if you don't comply? This isn't about how police should react it is about HOW they do react...until something drastically changes you are taking your life in danger by not complying. Why is that so hard to understand for some of you?

I still wonder why the nature of the outstanding warrants hasn't been revealed. I'm also wondering if it wasn't something personal between one of the cops and Few. If it comes out that the warrants were for something relatively minor it'll throw a completely different light on things.

I would like to know the percentage of suspects shot while trying to flee. Also what would be an acceptable percentage?

Again you're ignoring the fact that cops terrify some people, and for good reason. When people get scared, they do dumb shite. Like shoot dogs.
You speak like someone who has never been in a genuine life threatening situation.

Kind of like all the expert shooters in this thread?

If I don't comply with an officer I am putting my life in danger? WTF???
You do realize you don't have to do everything a cop tells you, right?
I agree it is better to be civilized and courteous to police but just because they claim to be threatened they have the right to shoot you??? What fascist BS have you been reading?

I wonder what is going to happen if it turns out the marshals were driving an unmarked unit.

How so? I have had a gun, knife, and machete pulled on me...been in a really bad wreck. Had a friend who cut himself really bad and I had to calm him and tend to his wound until paramedics arrived. I excel in high stress situations.

Cops are people right? You don't think some of them are on edge (terrified) lately based on all the shooting of police lately? Its a 2 way street.

How do you fix how human beings react to certain situations? If you can find the end all solution you will be a very rich man.

Come on man, nobody here is going to buy that shite. Even if it is true, it sounds kind of silly.
If you want to defend your blind obedience, that's fine. Just don't try and turn this into something it is not.

ah so you are one of the dumbasses that doesn't pay attention to these shootings by police. You just ignore what you have read or heard and won't apply it to a real life situation...then you will get shot and think...I didn't see that coming

No way! This is about being sensible when having interactions with police. I will not make any sudden movements or try to escape. Call me a survivor.

Many jurisdictions have changed the way police handle situations with unarmed or non violent offenders. Seeing that these were City Marshals, and not patrol officers, I'm finding it odd they engaged in a pursuit. They better hope this guy had some serious pending charges against him.
