And you don't know that they didn't. You think you do though. You do realize training doesn't equal 100% perfect accuracy, right?
I do know they didn't. The proof is a dead child.

And? Are you saying it's impossible for multiple ricochets or pass throughs to happen?
There are a lot of things possible. It's possible bullets went through a body several times and into the kid, yes.

Yea, no.

All of the cop critics should become cops
They obviously know what it takes
They obviously know what it takes

Jesus christ, you're going to great lengths and doing a lot of gymnastics to stick to your premise.
The bottom line is none of us know. Which has been my premise the whole thread BTW. My issue is with people like OP, Darth, etc that are ready to condemn the cops without knowing shite.

You're being willfully obtuse. The fact the child was shot multiple times proves they fired wildly. Logic should tell you that.

You keep saying it, and it still isn't a proof of anything.

I know enough to not fire a gun wildly at a car not knowing who's in it.

Correct. For that reason, I'll just step out.

And to you nothing will ever be proof enough. Keep on licking those cop boots. I'm done with you.

How is it correct? Keeping my mind open without all the facts is obtuse because I don't automatically question the cops? You guys are funny.

There it is.

So he backed into a car with no one in it. This sheds a whole new light on things. So the 2 officers weren't in any danger at all but still it's govt property so they were forced to fire.

It's not really "officers vs criminals".
This is ultimately a debate about how much power and leniency we grant LEOs.
Based on things like the parking lot shooting we saw the other day, I believe we are going too far and giving them too much leeway to use deadly force without repercussions.
As citizens, it's our responsibility to have these discussions and be sure that law enforcement doesn't arrogate too much power. If you let law enforcement decide, they are going to take as much as they can get. It's human nature.

Ah, the ole "you don't do it so shut up" argument.
We don't do it because we know the costs. That goes with any profession. If you can't handle the responsibility, get out of it.
They give you a gun, handcuffs, shotgun, vests, tasers, and defense training.
If common sense doesn't tell you that you might die, then I don't know what to say.
It's a huge responsibility with a great burden. The fear of dying doesn't give you the choice to put your life over the lives of those you swore to protect.

Do they relinquish their right to try and protect themselves?

I would rather not have cops at all than have out of control cops and a justice system that protects them.
I'm not saying that's what we have today, but I believe it will get there if left unchecked. And you could make an argument that we are heading in that direction.
At the very least, it's impossible to ignore the fact that "officer safety" is paramount within law enforcement. And you have to lack imagination to fail to see the likely implications of that. To put a point on it, if their #1 concern is their own safety, they are going to kill a shitload of people they don't necessarily have to while also being less likely to save innocents.

Not completely, no. Just be wary when "officer safety" trumps "public safety".

Blindly making excuses? Can I turn that around and say you're blindly attacking since you can't open your mind at all?
