In the Shark Tank, it matters which investor bites.
On the hit ABC reality show, entrepreneurs pitch investors for a chance to strike big-money deals. In its first seven seasons, 319 deals were made on camera. But what happens once the camera stops rolling?
Not all of them work out as seen on TV, but after interviewing 237 business owners who got offers, FORBES learned that Mark Cuban is the king of closing the deal. About 31% of contestants who succeeded on TV made a solo or group deal with him.
Cuban’s also the best shark for going through with on-air deals, and his terms rarely change.

He's still annoying when it comes to sports.

Too bad he's with "her"

Surprised Kevin made a deal with anyone
He is the most pessimistic one on the show

No, he just watches out for his own wallet instead of making emotional deals like the other pandering sharks. Kevin rocks.

And for most deals he suggests a venture debt type of deal structure to the entrepreneur, which, if you ask any practicing Venture Capitalist, is the absolute worst thing that an early stage entrepreneur can do because instead of plowing back money into the company to grow it, they are left paying Kevin interest/royalty on the products they sell. No early stage startup (which almost all the companies that come on the show are) should be burdened with paying interest on debt or royalties. It makes more sense to give equity to the investor.

"How did you come up with that insane valuation?" is basically a drinking game WRT Kevin. Another is his desire to buy the entrepreneur out, license the product to a big company, and collect a royalty. I don't know why anyone would make a deal with that a-hole.

Could also attribute this to him having more money than all the other people combined

Not surprising. I saw on a feature somewhere that there's been quite a few that came back or changed their minds and went sign some sort of deal with O'Leary afterwards.
Daymond John has become an arrogant prick IMO. He's let the show get to his head and acts like a baby went they don't immediately take his deals.
Cuban makes the best offers and when he wants something, goes and gets it. Not afraid to throw cash around.
O'Leary knows how to make money. It's always about his bottom line but at the same time if he makes money, you're going to make a ton as well.
Corcoran is very picky and greedy. Always trying to take controlling interest of someone's company. Can be crabby.
Greiner knows how to sell. I wouldn't be surprised if she's made the most money off deals. Loves the infomercial type items.
Herjavec just comes off creepy to me. If you aren't in the tech space, unless he's the only offer out there, I'm not sure why anyone would want to deal with him. You can always see entrepreneurs play off his SOB story growing up.

The most successful ST product is the Scrub Daddy sponge, which Lori bought.

Bought one the other week.
The squatty potty has done really well too.

So you have to ask a venture capitalist to know that Royalties close doors...

Still can't believe they passed on Ring, that damn thing took off after it aired. Guy ended up getting Richard Branson on board though.

So he is just going to be another idiot running around making bad deals like in Iran or TPP
Posted on 10/21/16 at 1:11 pm to Street Hawk
and he's a cool dude in person.

Lori only takes deals if it deal with products that she can sell on QVC
And I would assume product businesses are most likely to go on the show just for the publicity

But the political board told me he is a complete idiot with no business sense.

And the two women lead the pack in deals that didn't happen. Shocker.
