all the scientists working on cancer research could have easily come up with a cure for cancer but they'd never do that because it would mean that their research funding dries up, right?
The scientist who cures cancer isn't going to get rich from his research funding, it will be from finding the cure.

If an "earth scientist" finds "the cure" for climate change, would that mean he can set the global temperature once and for all?

Good luck with that.

Climate change is ‘not as bad as we thought’ say scientists

The research scientists have to keep their money coming in.

It is truly amazing how people can be skeptical of scientists yet have zero skepticism of oil industry lobbyists.

It is well known that people who are looking to make a lot of money, the sort of people who put greed above professional integrity and will do anything to get rich, go into Earth Sciences.

They don't do it to get rich, they do it to afford a living. If they don't have funding, they don't have a job.

Wasn't this exact thing published last week? It's not financially adventageous to cure diseases.

I've experienced a few dozen hotter Marches in the quad.

We know both are in it for the money when it comes to this subject.

You apparently don't

I really thought we were having cooler than normal weather this year in the United States

Well here in lies the flaw in your data collection methods. Assuming that one area is representative of the entire system is flawed.

This isn’t meant to debate the occurrence of global warmer. Only a reminder that you need to be thinking in terms of temperature averages throughout the whole world, and not assuming that cooler local weather patterns can be used to infer temperatures in other areas of the world.

You don’t have to have blind loyalty to the global climate change cabal to be skeptical of the lobbyist.

If we are experiencing climate change and if climate change is caused by human activity shouldn't we work on population growth?
