Go out in style. Kiss your loved ones. Mix your favorite drink and get a lawn chair. One brief glimmer of bright light and it's over.
The movie, "The Day After" (early 1980's) did a pretty good job of scaring the shite out of folks. The USSR protested the made for TV movie as they contended that the authors made it look like their fault. What happened in that movie is probably an underestimate of the damage, but it got the point across well enough.

LOL Most of us won't. The last real scare came during the first term of the Nixon administration when he put everything on high alert in the middle of the night in response to a communication from the USSR. It was in the middle of the night and most of those of us who were around (during 1973 Israeli war) would have been asleep and just never woke up. Fortunately, that was one time the Soviet Premier (Leonid Brezhnev) had a cooler head than Nixon. The American public did not learn about it until Nixon later practically bragged about it in his memoirs.

I'll sell one spot in my State College apartment to the highest bidder in the event of WWIII.

In reality just a couple of nukes would totally destroy this country. It wouldn't take hundreds or thousands.
