I'm surprised smoking hasn't been banned indoors in all workplaces by OSHA.

Those frickers go apeshit over a can of spray paint. A bartender working 5 nights a week in a smoke filled bar has to be a hazardous environment.

Yes, but it is more than speech. This point could be argued all night.

My expression is different than yours.

Your clothes smell like arse, and your sinuses say "frick you" to that "never effected" BS.

Lol

I guess your favorite place is a smoking bar you feel will shut down if non smoking?

Barflies are gonna barfly man.

You think a small group of officials should be able to tell a business owner how to run his business?

You do realize that what you typed makes no sense as a reply to what he said, right?

Are you acting stupid or is it genuine?

I'm not sure how. If your talking about a constitutional right to the freedom of expression and whether or not one exists in particular circumstances there is only one way to have a legitimate discussion about it, and it's how our courts have interpreted it forever. That would be a sub-category of the freedom of speech. There is no where in our constitution that says you have a freedom of expression. It is implicit in the freedom to speak.

So as a non smoker, I don't have the freedom to patronize any business I please? Got it.

That small group of officials are elected by the community to govern and regulate the community. That's text book definition of a democratic republic. They didn't get elected by a majority of people by running on things that the community doesn't want. If you want to change it, vote them out.

You have the freedom to patronize any business you please. Just understand that some allow smoking.

Yes smokers can go outside to smoke. And that's what they do in establishments that don't allow smoking. But if a bat allows it inside them the smoker has a right to smoke inside.

Again if you don't want to breath in second hand smoke don't go to bars that allow smoking inside.

It's baffling. I do love it when "conservatives" use the power of gov't to force other people to do what they want them to do. Then, they'll bitch about other people doing the same thing to them regarding abortion, gun rights, drug legalization, etc, etc

As a conservative I agree. Less government in our personal lives is better. People need to realize they have to power to change this without the gooberment. If non smokers stop going to places that allow smoking the business owner would stop it on his own. Government does not get involved.

No worries. I'm voting against everyone currently in St Tammany government.

I can't understand why you think the government should regulate if a business owner allows smoking. Would you be ok if they voted to require smoking in every restaurant?

I completely agree. Let the free market decide. We don't need more government overreach.

Nope and nope. I don't smoke. I don't usually go to smoking bars (there aren't many in BR anyway). I've explained this plenty of time but you keep acting ignorant to it because it doesn't fit your argument

Mandeville to consider banning smoking in bars

Normally I would be all in on opposing this type of statist big government bullshite but the entitled and whiny deflecting bitch attitude most smokers have today about this self destructive behavior they seek to protect just really makes me not give a frick about bans like this.

I would've given a shite about this in the past even as someone who hates smoking and nearly lost his father to it but I don't care now.

Sounds like you'd rather just ban smoking than ban it in bars.

The side trying to ban it is the side whining and bitching

And again I'll note that I don't smoke
