Man, woman killed in Little Woods shooting

that is a very rough area of town, my mom used to own some rental property there and it was never fun having to go there to fix something.

I wouldn't drive through that area in broad daylight. If you were to look at the area on Google street view you might think it isn't too bad--a working class neighborhood. Far from it.

The word “beach” is a misnomer, it’s a concrete sea wall.

There’s a four lane busy concrete highway, then a huge levee with the active NSRR mainline tracks on it before you’d get to the ruins of what used to be the African-American version of Ponchartrain Beach Amusement Park. The place has been abandoned since the mid ‘60s.

No one is fighting to visit, frolic, swim, or picnic there.
