Actually you can buy an AK-47 made by Arsenal. The difference is an AK-47 is milled T2 or T3 (I'm excluding the original stamped type T1).
If it has a stamped receiver it is an AKM. If it is milled it is probably a Type 3.

They make them in semi automatic. The Draco AK-47 pistol is Romanian made and it’s a semi auto.
