Cannot use lethal force in defense of property.

Shot guy in back of neck.

Did not immediately call police or attempt to render aide.

Looks pretty bad for this guy.

If you shoot someone trespassing on your property and whether or not you were acting in self defense in questionable I don’t see why you wouldn’t just dump the body somewhere else. It’s not like the guy trespassing on your property told anyone where he’s going. I don’t see how anyone could track it back to your house.

You absolutely can in Texas.

You shouldn't post things like this if you don't know what you're talking about.

You can even shoot a fleeing thief to recover stolen property.

What a surprise it is Dallas. The city trying to make it as easy as possible for thieves.

Murder charge is absolutely asinine. Other charges likely more legit.

They aren't making it easy at all for people stealing from other people.

The $750 thing that this board loves to bring up does not apply to people trespassing on residential property. It's still dumb, but you don't have to make shite up to call it dumb.

quote:

Following an April 11 memo issued by the district attorney, Creuzot's office will no longer prosecute those busted for marijuana possession for the first time, those caught with just a trace amount of drugs or misdemeanor criminal trespass cases that do not involve someone trespassing on residential property. Most controversially, Creuzot also plans to decline prosecuting anyone caught stealing $750 or less worth of necessary personal items, like baby formula, diapers or food.

Not to mention filing a false police report. The article says he reported that it was a home invasion in progress. He shot the perp around 5AM. They called the police 2 hours later and reported it in progress. When they reported it in progress, the perp had been dead for 2 hours already. They were trying to cover their arse and failed.
